Ok… New Years resolution. Post more personal stuff. I went the whole of 2017 without a single personal blog. This whole parenting thing and working 2 jobs is time consuming!

This year I’ve had to set some rules about the photos I choose for my top 17. Well one rule… do not overload on Ruby! Which is difficult when the first pass at my favourite photos results in about 300 photos of her and I want to get that down to… 5? … 6? …. I am going to fail so miserably. Maybe I’ll aim for 5 “non-Ruby” photos. New Years resolution #2. Take more photos of… not Ruby.

So, 2017 has been and gone and as you can already guess, much of it revolved around our little girl who went from 1 to 13 months. It really is a blur. When you stop to think through that year and look through the photos, there so much that makes you go “oh yeah!”. There was the stress, tiredness and lows that come with a baby, but the highs make up for it all. Even at your most tired, and knowing you have a long day ahead, a giggle, a frantic hand-clapping, or a “da-da” from the darkness as you walk into her room at 6am just has a way of making you forget all about that. The “da-da” by the way is a generic term of affection Ruby has for anything she likes/wants. It is not solely reserved for me :) I could easy gush and ramble on about every little milestone in Ruby’s life but that probably wouldn’t be very interesting. If a picture says a thousand words, and the pictures below tell a fraction of the story, how could I ever hope to put the words together to describe watching her grow from a tiny, entirely dependent newborn (sure they’re cute but they don’t do much expect eat, sleep and poop), into the little bundle of energy and personality she is today.
