Niamh & Mario
Ballymaloe House
Mar 20, 2016
On a personal note, 2016 has already seen a big change in my life with a move out to East Cork. What better way to set some roots but to shoot a wedding around the corner in the beautiful Ballymaloe. Besides, as a Cork based wedding photographer, it’s about time I shot a wedding in Cork!! :) And what a wedding it was…
Just last week Niamh and Mario had a wonderfully intimate wedding, kicking off in Blarney with a fry up, ham sandwich making on scale only possible by an Irish mammy (complete with tinfoil wrapping) and a buzzing home ready for a great day. Mario’s family may well have been in Spain (celebrations should be kicking off there as I type) but here he was already surrounded by family, the wedding simply a formality to set it in stone. Niamh then was quite possibly the happiest person in Ireland, the widest of smiles never leaving her face all day.
I really just want to thank Niamh and Mario for having me capture their day. This was a family day at its heart and to have me there as part of it, not just as a photographer, but as a guest, a friend and an eater of sandwiches, it was an honour. Also, massive kudos to you both for diving right in with the photos and trusting me when I suggested a stained concrete wall (out of all of Ballymaloes glory) as the backdrop for some shots :)
