This wedding was both a first and a second for me. That is… it was the first time I’d been to a venue for the second time. That venue being of course, Inish Beg! It was quite cool treading familiar ground while at the same time experiencing such a different day. This day belonged to Emma and Rhys, and their guests who travelled over from Wales for a destination wedding in the south coast of Ireland, on St. Patricks Day no less!
I met up with Emma first in the boathouse where many hands were making light work of getting the room set up. That alter you see in the photos below was made by the groom btw! In fact, every almost every aspect of the wedding was touched in some way by this DIY loving couple. Was it worth all that effort? You bet! The ceremony was a knockout in every way, the setting, the attention to detail, the vows, the tears, the flowergirl doing her best to steal the show :)
It was all going so well, I feared for the bridal party photos as the rain poured down outside. Fair play to the guys and gals though, the Welsh are made of stern stuff and we ventured out, umbrellas in hand. Ok, we didn’t make it too far but we were in the woods, by the water… we didn’t need to go far. Just like Emma and Rhys, we were exactly where we needed to be… was that a bit cheesy… when I read it back its in the voice of Carrie Bradshaw… ah who cares every wedding needs a bit of cheese ;)
