As a wedding photographer I often find myself almost as one of the guests, having the chats, enjoying the canapes, and just generally having a nice day out with a bunch of super happy people. Well… when you are one sixth of the total number of people at the wedding, you definitely feel like an honarary guest. That’s what happened on Aine and Ryan’s private wedding day. It was just them, two close friends and their daughter… and me! I have a certain sense of admiration for them that not only did they choose to have a low key wedding but that they managed to keep it a secret!
I just love how this day was a mash between a wedding and a family day out. We started out in the simple, and simply sweet, registry office. It was a lovely intimate family ceremony, Sarah even got stuck in for the rings :) What followed was a trip to Fitzgeralds Park and… I’ll cut to the chase… I kinda got stuck up on one of those wooden playground fort structures and had to take the kids slide to get down (with both cameras in hand I might add). It was simultaneously mortifying sliding down and the best fun ever. As I said though, this flicked between a wedding shoot and a family day out in a heartbeat and the blend of the two was just a joy to be part of.
Aine, Ryan and Sarah, I wish you all the best in life and I hope these photos bring you right back to that wonderful day.
