Lanza!
Jul 14, 2015
So, a little while ago my Dad turned 60 and to mark the occasion, we all decided the best thing to do was to head for some sun and celebrate in style. Puerto Del Carmen in Lanzarote was once a family favourite for a sunny break in our house. Mom & Dad have kept on visiting though, getting their annual dose of Vitamin D (Ireland, you’re beautiful but as I type this in the middle of Summer I’m looking out the window at grey clouds and rain). They know every restaurant in town worth its salt and have more tips than any guide book. All the rest of us had to do was sit back, enjoy the sun and be told where & when to eat. Just like old times :)
So it was, Mom, Dad, Matt & Noreen flew out from Knock, Mary and I from Cork. What greeted us was a fairly overcast Lanzarote but clearer skies and soaring temperatures were on the way. We very quickly settled into a busy routine of sitting by the pool (or at the beach if we felt up for the walk) reading a book, occasionally robbing the open wireless connection from Matt’s apartment. We did branch out a few times with walks and boat trips but it was all about the R&R… and the €1.60 bottle of Cava in Aldi… and Dad of course!
Happy birthday Dad! Hope you enjoy the snaps.
