Driving Home for Christmas

January is nearly gone and Christmas feels an age ago but here it is, finally, my Christmas 2014 blog!
Christmas started as it always does, checking out from work early on Christmas Eve making our way up to Nenagh (dropping Mary off) and then onwards to Glasson, waiting for “Driving Home for Christmas” to pop on Christmas FM. Christmas morning is when the real fun starts with a traditional steak and egg breakfast, followed not long after by some mulled wine and then the patient wait for dinner. Everything gets a bit hazy after that… :-/
The next week was spent up and down the country, juggling lecture preparations, assignments and visits to Mary’s family and mine. 8 days after it all started I was back at my desk… enjoying (with the 20 other souls who came in on January 2nd) the Friday order of 350 scones, cakes and treats that work forgot to cancel.
